Richard and Alex

I was very apprehensive about teaching today as I am recovering from a very heavy bout of Man flu but I need not have worried because my Students today Richard and Alex were a delight too teach.
I really was not looking forward to today the workshop is in a disgusting mess because I have not felt well enough to clean it properly after my last Students.I also have a massive pile of Blanks on the floor that I have  not been able to find the time to rough out.
I said my apologies for the state of the workshop but they assured me the did not mind.
Although I felt very weak and a bit tired as I have not been sleeping well I soon got into teaching mode and we had a very nice relaxed day.
Richards Wife Sally treated Richard to a days woodturning as a Christmas gift and their son Alex treated himself.
Alex is only seventeen so it is good to see a young person taking and interest in Craft.

Alex was telling me about a coffee table he made for Collage so I thought it would be nice to include a picture of it here.
It is made from upcycled Cheese Box's.

Today Richard turned a very nice Sycamore Bowl with a Textured and coloured rim and Alex turned a very nice Beech Bowl with a lot of figuring.
They did very well.

  1. A Christmas present from my wife this was a skill which I had always wanted to try .My son and I had a great experience under the guidance of George,he made us both feel at ease.
Great hospitality from his wife Sue .I would highly recommend the course for anyone who would like to explore wood turning.
The sycamore bowl now has pride of place in my home.
