Yesterday Paul who is semi retired after taking early retirement came here for some woodturning tuition and produced a very nice Ash bowl 11" x 3".
I think Paul will be taking up woodturning as a retirement hobby I certainly hope so because he took to it really well.

Ring Box's
Yesterday my student John wanted to make a ring box for his daughters up and coming wedding in August. John was here several months ago for a days tuition but has not managed to set up his lathe yet so has had no further practice. I was pleasantly surprised how much John had remembered from his last lesson. John made two very nice ring box's to give his daughter a choice.
Well done John I am sure she will be pleased with either one.

Paul's Wet and thin
Paul one of my regular Students with me today has progressed from ordinary bowls to Wet and thin bowls.
Paul is growing in confidence as can be seen by the bowl he turned today. This bowl is deep and not easy to turn so he has done very well.
Here are some pictures throughout the day
