Not Bad going for an old Boy

Roughed out 49 Wide rimmed Bowls in five hours not bad going I think.
Got to clean up ready for teaching tommorow

Cutting up Bowl blanks

Yesterday My son Mark and I picked up a load of mixed wood boards Oak,Ash ,Beech and Sycamore.
I cut up a lot of it up yesterday with marks help and finnished off today.
I have 99 Bowl blanks some spindle blanks and still have lots more to cut up at a later date.
The Blanks are from 18" down to 9"

Wood & Polmer Clay

Today my Grandaughter Ali and I made a Bowl out of Beech approx 11" x 2 1/2" with an inlay of Polymer Clay I did the turning and Ali did the clay.

Tony and Sarah

Tony and Sarah my Students today were here for a days Woodturning experience as a treat for themselves.
They both worked hard and were good company.
As you can see from the pics below theymade two nice Beech Bowls to take away as a reeminder of their day here.
Sarah's Bowl had beutiful markings and as Tony's was a bit plain some Texture and colour was added

Making new Stock

I have sold a lot of my Coloured wide rimmed bowls lately 8 in the last month so I have had to make new stock.These are approx 14" x 3"




Wood and Glass Wide Rimmed Bowls

Carrying on with my works with Wood and Glass I have made two Wide Rimmed Bowls the Green one is 15" x 3" the Blue one is 12" x 2 1/2"

Margaret and Julie

Today my Students were Mother and Daughter Margaret and Julie.
Margaret treated Julie to a days Woodturning tuition as a Birthday present and decided to come along herself.
They were great company and a pleasure to teach and they both made very nice Beech Bowls with some texturing and colouring on the rims.
Very well done Ladies it was a real pleasure having you here today.
