Update 31 03 2012
Due to a collection of things I have neglected to update my Blog recently.I have been busy Demonstrating and teaching as well as having a very much loved brother in law pass away.To make life harder I have had two colds one after another, sinusitis and a chest infection.Hopefully I will now get back on track.Tomorrow am visiting a Man and his wife who want me to make a set of Somerset skittles to send to their son in China who is getting married in a couple of months time. They want his present to be a little bit of Somerset so I am looking forward to making them it should be quite an interesting project. On Tuesday two ladies are coming to me for a days tuition and a gentleman from a club I demonstrated in recently is coming for tuition on Friday and Saturday.I also have an order to make some Bud vases and a coloured bowl.I have also been talking to my Ceramics maker friend Wendy Wendy's work and we will be getting together soon to work on some ideas for combining wood and ceramics I am looking forward to that as it will hopefully give us some opportunities to explore new works. In May hopefully I will be going to the V&A Museum in London with a small group from Somerset Art Works that will be inspiring I am sure.Somerset Art Works

Pics from East Kent Woodworking show
I have just returned from the East Kent Woodworking show were I was demonstrating for two days.I don't know how many visitors there were but at times it seemed very busy. These pics were all taken before the show opened and are just random pics to give you an idea of what it was like.
I really enjoyed the show and met a lot of really nice people.

Irish hospitality
I have just returned from Southern Ireland where I was a guest at the Gorey Chapter Seminar of the Irish Woodturning Guild Link to Guild.
Mark Sanger was invited to attend this event as a Demonstrator and he asked if he could bring a mate along.
I was kindly invited to attend as a guest by the committee .
What a great event this turned out to be.
There where four professional demonstrators three from Ireland and Mark Sanger .
There was one hundred and twenty attendees plus demonstrators and tool sales .
The atmosphere throughout the event was great and a good time was had by all.
Food and drink was laid on through the day and on the Saturday night the committee,Demonstrators and guests were treated to a slap up meal in a local pub.
I have taken some pics that I would like to share with you.

Here are two of the pieces Mark completed during the day.
Here are some pics of John Kelly.John is a real character and even demonstrated how to turn with an axe.
How about this for a beautiful smile.
Rbert and one of his completed pieces.
This gentleman I don't know his name spent the entire day helping people with sharpening and tool profiling problems.I have just been informed the gentleman below is Willie Steadmond.
This is the building the event was held in an old Church School.
I think you would be hard pressed to find more hospitable and welcoming people than the Irish.
Thank you all for a great weekend.I will be back.
