David's two days

David has had some experience with woodturning and has had some Tuition with another pro Turner but sensibly looking to gain extra knowledge.Davids interest is mostly in Bowl turning and is going about things in the right way he is getting tuition then practising and returning for more tuition.
In our two days we covered quite a lot with decoration techniques and colouring.
David has gone away with two beautiful bowls and a lot of extra knowledge.

Very well done David I look forward to seeing you again in the future.

Last student of the Week

That is it for another week a busy day with Ian.
Ian my Student today has completed a furniture making course with the local College and a woodturning course with a pro turner about seven years ago and he wanted to have a day brushing up on Bowl turning.
He was more concerned with improving his tooling than making a finished piece but as you can see we managed both and Ian made a very nice Beech bowl with an undercut and coloured rim.
Well done Ian I look forward to seeing you again in the near future.

Teaching a Teacher

Andy my Student today is a Head Teacher and sometimes Teachers can be difficult to teach but Andy was dead easy and good company with a great sense of humour.
Andy has restored several houses and a narrow boat so is quite useful at DIY so wood turning came quite easy to him.
As Andy is a Teacher I asked him to give me some feedback on our day together and basically if he can point out any  improvements to the way I teach it would be very helpful.
Feedback is something I always encourage as I am always open to improvement.
I look forward to Andy's feedback

Very well done Andy that is a lovely Beech bowl

An easy day with Ed

Ed my Student today was here for a days tuition because his Mates clubbed together to buy him a thirtieth Birthday present.
Ed was very good company and very easy to teach so I had a very nice relaxed day. Ed's Wife Samantha is expecting their first baby in August so this bowl will be a nice present for her as the rim is coloured turquoise her favourite colour.
Thank you Ed for making my day very enjoyable that is a great bowl you turned.
