Box making course today


 Today my Students were Paul and Martin on a Box making day
I have lost count of the times Paul has been here over the years but it was a first time for Martin.
The day was spent making Box's with Pewter inserts in the lids.
Both did very well as you can see from following pics

14" Cedar of Lebanon Bowl

14 " Cedar of Lebanon beautiful figuring.
This came from a Private Estate in Devon it was cut down about a year ago and roughed out soon after .
The second pic is the wood roughed out
Myself and three mates were given the opportunity to help ourselves to wood that had been cut down.
There was Yew,Turkey Oak Holm Oak and Cedar of Lebanon.

Dan and Ed

Yesterday my Students were Dan and Ed and both look like they will be taking up Woodturning as a hobby.
They both took to Woodturning easily and I am sure they will be good turners in the future.
Very well done both of you two very nice Sycamore Bowls to take home

Today I had the pleasure of teaching two lovely Ladies Bowl turning.
I always enjoy teaching Ladies and today was no exception easy to teach good company and I get payed for it.Life is good.

Yesterdays Students

Yesterday my Students were Robin and Gareth were new to Woodturning and were here as an experience day as a treat by their wife's.
Both were good company and easy to teach making it an easy day for me.
They both started of wit similar Sycamore Bowl blanks but made bowls that were quite different.
Well done both of you you did very well.
