Davids Birthday present

David's Wife Penny treated him to a days woodturning tuition for his Birthday.
Although David has his own Lathe and tools he felt he would benefit from some formal Tuition.
David turned a very nice bowl from Beech and hopefully went away with more confidence.

Well done David you did very well.

  1. Hello George.
I wish to thank you for an enjoyable, informative and rewarding day.

First impressions are always important and the greeting from you and your wife on my arrival made the day.

I learnt so much from you during the day course. The structure of timber made me better understand the correct way to use turning tools, the profile of gouges, some work to be done with the sharpening system on my bowel gouge and the finishing of work with abrasives, sanding systems and applying finishes. Most of all safety. I now realise I must rethink my approach to working with my lathe and how, I had in the past have put myself in danger on occasions.

Christmas is not too far off and I can think of a couple of tools you demonstrated will definitely be on my wish list; whether anyone will take notice is debatable. I'm hoping to get to work turning next week, family permitting; grandchildren return to school on Monday but I still have other commitments
to taking up some my time. Retirement keeps me busy.

    Many thanks

    Dave Darby.
