Last student of the Week

That is it for another week a busy day with Ian.
Ian my Student today has completed a furniture making course with the local College and a woodturning course with a pro turner about seven years ago and he wanted to have a day brushing up on Bowl turning.
He was more concerned with improving his tooling than making a finished piece but as you can see we managed both and Ian made a very nice Beech bowl with an undercut and coloured rim.
Well done Ian I look forward to seeing you again in the near future.

Thank you George for an interesting day re-learning tooling techniques and learning some new ones too. Nice lunch and plenty of coffee makes for a good day! Never planned on making anything just happy to turn a lump of wood into a pile of shavings to practice creating a finish straight from the tool. Didn't quite get there on my own but almost so not too much sanding to do.
Thanks again George for a nice end to the week!
